The land area of Europe is about 6.8% of world’s land area. There are almost 50 states in Europe. The largest country in Europe is Russia by both area and population.
The birth place of western culture is in ancient Greece. European forces invaded other countries and controlled most of Africa, the America and many portions of Asia. They made their colonies there and try to develope their own culture. It played a vital role in world’s affairs from the 16th century onward. Both world wars highly affected the European economy, culture and civilization. NATO in the west and Warsaw Pact in the east divided Europe during Cold War by the mid of 20th century.
Its climate is milder than other areas lies on the same latitude due to Gulf-stream. It makes this wonderful continent wetter and warmer because it warms up the prevailing western cold winds. The average temperature is 16 c. It is very complex to say that Europe has a common culture. Cultural movements and innovations could be seen in this marvelous land. We can describe European culture as a series of overlapping cultures. Christianity is largely practiced by the European .Islam dominates in some countries .Hinduism, Judaism and other religions are minority religions in Europe.

Amsterdam – The Netherlands
